Seminar on Climate Science

Objective
The Delegation of the European Union to Japan is hosting the “EU-Japan Seminar Series on Green Transition” with the objective of providing an opportunity to debate European environmental and climate change policies with the broader stakeholders of policymakers, business community and the civil society in Japan.

Specifically, the seminar on Climate Science aims to:

Disseminate scientific policy-relevant information on climate change, mitigation and adaptation, in particular, the 6th assessment cycle of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change).

Showcase the EU’s and Japan’s “green” research and innovation portfolio.

Reiterate the common objective for EU and Japan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050; and reflect on the science-policy interface and policy governance for the ecological transition.

Seek complementarities/synergies with the G7 EU Member States and other EU Member States.
